New Strange Cover - Flowers in The Attic in YA Sweet Look

Reblogged from New Books and More:

The book and the story is twisted and dark. You can be easily mislead about the plot looking at the above cover. It just doesn't fit to the story! The books isn't sweet, candy-like romance chick lit fun! As far as V.C. Andrew's series can be perceives as YA (for mature teens), the plot itself is quite serious, revealing many social and mental problems, forbidden love, devotion, life and death, love and hate, pain, despair, hope and hopelessness.

Four siblings are forced to spend many years locked in the attic. They are abused, starved, bitten, forgotten by mother and hated by grandma, the religious maniac.

The cover for new edition is a total mistake. Have the designer actually read the book, or at leas its summary?
